Shannon Stovall is a muti-media artist who utilizes performance, video, and drag to create characters who often find themselves in absurd and challenging situations. These characters are a language used to explore her identity, issues of power, failure, and societal expectations.

She was born in San Diego, California and received her BFA in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2012. She recently received her MFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts.

Her work has been exhibited in group shows at Book and Job Gallery in San Francisco, and SVA Chelsea Gallery in New York. Last summer she attended the first annual Visual Arts Residency at Chautauqua Institute.

She currently lives in Upper Manhattan, New York.
